Measuring Guide: How to Get the Perfect Fit
Inside Mount
What Is an Inside Mount?
An inside mount is installed neatly within the window frame, creating a clean, tailored look while keeping your window trim visible. It's a great choice for a simple, uncluttered finish.
How to Measure
Depth: Measure the available depth inside your window frame. A minimum depth of 2 1/2" is required for proper installation.
Width: Measure the inside width at three points — top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest measurement and subtract 3/8" to determine your ordering width.
Height: Measure the inside height at three points — left, center, and right. Use the largest measurement as your ordering length.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Light Gaps: Small gaps may appear along the sides to allow the shade to operate smoothly. For better light coverage, consider an Outside Mount.
Size Deduction: The 3/8" width deduction is already included in your ordering measurement. No additional deduction is needed.
Measurement Precision: Record all measurements to the nearest 1/8". The ordered width and length include the headrail.
Outside Mount
What Is an Outside Mount?
An outside mount is installed on the wall above the window or directly onto the window trim. It provides fuller coverage, helps minimize light gaps, and creates the appearance of larger, taller windows.
How to Measure
Width: Measure the outside width of the window frame or trim. Add extra width on both sides for better coverage.
Height: Measure the window height from the top outside edge to the bottom outside edge of the frame. Include the distance above the frame where you plan to install the shade, plus any desired extension below the window.
Recommended Overlap
Width: We recommend adding 2" on each side (4" total) for better light coverage. If space allows, you may extend up to 3" on each side.
Height: For a taller, more open look, consider mounting the shade approximately 10–12" above the window frame. This allows room for the shade to stack when raised, keeping more of the window visible.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Mounting Space: Make sure there is at least 2" of flat space above the window for the headrail and brackets.
Obstructions: Check for decorative trim, handles, or other hardware that may interfere with installation. Projection brackets may help provide additional clearance.
Ordering Size: Your ordering width and length represent the overall shade dimensions, including the headrail. No width deduction is required for Outside Mount.

FAQs
A minimum window depth of 2.5 inches is required for an inside mount.
Yes. Please deduct 3/8 inch from the window opening width before placing your order.
For example, if your window opening is 50 inches wide, order a width of 49 5/8 inches.
Yes. For Inside Mount, the Measurement Finder automatically subtracts 3/8" from the smallest window width measurement. The recommended size is ready to order, so no additional deduction is needed.
For Outside Mount, no deduction is applied.
We’ll send a step-by-step installation guide (PDF) to the email address used for your order.
Please do not pull, unfold, or operate the shade before it is fully installed. Using the shade while the headrail is not securely mounted may cause the internal cords to tangle or damage the shade.
Damage caused by improper handling is not covered by our after-sales service.
Once installed, use both hands to gently and evenly raise or lower the bottom rail. Avoid pulling from only one side, as this may affect the shade’s alignment and operation.

Easy to install, look great at a decent price.
Very impressed with these Roman shades. The fabric and construction feel high quality, and they give the windows a very clean, custom appearance. The shades operate smoothly and look even better in person than online. They added a soft, elegant touch to the room while still feeling modern and tailored. Overall, excellent quality and a great value for the price.
I installed these myself at 38 weeks pregnant. SO easy and they look amazing! Great product for the price.
Overall, I really like this shade. The quality is good, it operates smoothly, and the finished look is beautiful. I chose the blackout lining, and the fabric did appear a little darker after installation than I expected from the photos. It’s not a major issue and it still looks great in the room, but I would keep that in mind when choosing the color.
I ordered this for our bedroom and chose the blackout lining. It gives us much better privacy and keeps the room noticeably darker in the morning. What I really like is that it still looks soft and elegant instead of thick or bulky. The fabric hangs nicely, the mechanism feels smooth, and overall it looks much more expensive than what we paid.
Installation was straightforward and the shade works smoothly. I especially like how neat the folds look when it’s raised. It instantly made the window look more finished.
Such a clean, custom look for the window. Very happy with it.
The fabric feels much nicer than I expected. It has a soft woven texture that adds warmth without making the room feel heavy.
Love the texture. Looks so natural.
Beautiful and easy to install.
The color is beautiful in person and very easy to match with the rest of the room. We have warm wood furniture and neutral walls, and this shade blends in perfectly while still adding some texture and interest.
I had been looking for Roman shades that felt relaxed and natural but still looked polished, and these were exactly what I wanted. The linen-blend fabric has a really nice weight and texture, and the wood headrail feels solid. Once installed, the whole window looked cleaner and more tailored. The shade raises evenly, the folds stack nicely, and it adds just enough softness to the room without being overly decorative. I’m seriously considering ordering more for the other windows.
Such a clean, custom look for the window. Very happy with it.
